How to Open the Library Palette in Adobe

The Adobe Creative Suite is a powerful and intensive set of media and artistic programs. There are few software packages available that match the depth of Adobe’s. Along with this depth, however, comes the problem of not knowing where certain functions and options are when you need them. Fortunately, most resources in Adobe programs are never more than a few clicks away.

    Dreamweaver

  1. Step 1

    Open Dreamweaver and open an existing document or create a new document from the Welcome screen.

  2. Step 2

    Select “Window > Assets” from the application menu. Go to the “Assets” palette and click on the open book icon. This opens the “Library” palette.

  3. Step 3

    Switch your view to “Code” and drag pieces of code to the palette for use in other pages and parts of your site.

  4. Flash

  5. Step 1

    Open Flash and open an existing document or create a new document from the Welcome screen.

  6. Step 2

    Select “Window > Library” from the application window. The “Library” palette will show up on the right side of the application.

  7. Step 3

    Select, add or delete your flash project’s symbols, buttons, fonts, etc. in the “Library” palette.

  8. Step 4

    Save a workspace that includes the “Library” palette by clicking the workspace drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the application and selecting “New Workspace.” Enter a name for the workspace and click “OK.”
